Tinkerbell ‘Joan’

Tinkerbell locomotive ‘Joan’ is one of the youngest members of our locomotive fleet, being built by locomotive builder Peter Beevers in 2014.
She is built to an adapted Tinkerbell design with removable cab roof and coal bunker. The original tinkerbell locomotive built by Roger Moore over 50 years ago, and still running at the Moors Valley Railway in Dorset.
Joan has spent all of her working life at Barnards. She has visited some other lines in her history, including the Moors Valley Railway in 2018 and the East Herts Miniature Railway in 2025.
Although more than capable of pulling our standard 7 coach trains, she will generally be found pottering around Barnards with a set of 5, and is one of our frontline locomotives for passenger trains.
