We have a variety of public running days in the 2026 calendar available for you to enjoy. Below is a short explanation of what you can expect on different days.
MINIATURE RAILWAY – Only the Barnards Miniature Railway is running. Barnards Farm Gardens are closed. This means only ticket donation for the railway and not the gardens.
GARDENS & MINIATURE RAILWAY – Both Barnards Farm Gardens and the Barnards Miniature Railway is open. Ticket donation is needed for the gardens to be able to access the miniature railway (which is an additional charge).
SUNDAY GARDEN = A special opening combining both Barnards Farm Gardens and the miniature railway. Full details and ticket donation available via our Facebook, @barnardsminiaturerailway.
Easter Express / Winter Lights / Santa Specials – Pre-bookable event only, full details available closer to time on our Facebook, @barnardsminiaturerailway.
Please click on the date you wish to visit for full information on ticket donation and opening times.

Event Details
Unfortunately, due to the prolonged dry weather we will temporarily be running diesel and electric locomotives ONLY at the BMR. This unfortunately means that we are unable to host miniature traction engines as advertised on Sunday.
We will still have plenty of diesels out offering rides around our railway, with our resident twin-engined Deltic ‘Royal Highland Fusilier’, making its full return to service after overhaul.
Our ‘Barnards Belle’ pullman service will also be out. Purchase rover tickets to enjoy this as well as unlimited rides.
