Mardyke Single Railbus

This lovely Mardyke railbus was built in 1978 as a battery electric single unit. It remained at Mardykes ‘Mardyke Valley Railway’ in Bulphan for a while, after beginning a series of moves to various different railways. This includes a private owner in Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, and then back to Mardyke.

The railbus then went to another owner in Kent, however in 2011 arrived at Barnards, purchased by a private owner.

It has since been named ‘LEV6’. Although it is not often used on passenger services it can be seen pottering around on various special events.
