C47 47845

Mardyke Class 47 47845

This class 47 was built by Mardyke Miniature Locomotives in 1992, and delivered to the Swanley New Barn Railway in Kent.

She originally ran as 47845 ‘County of Kent’, named after her full size equivalent. The real ‘County of Kent’ was eventually rebuilt into a class 57, 57301, owned by DRS (Direct Rail Services), and still currently in service.

‘County of Kent’ ran at Swanley until 2014 when it was purchased for use at Barnards. At this time the engine required a substantial overhaul. She is currently awaiting her turn in the overhaul queue. There are plans to return her to service, oneday!
